Lightweight Backpack, 2021

The guiding principle for the design of this backpack was a removable sketchbook with storage for everything one would need for writing or drawing — inspiration on the go. A piece of outdoor gear design for the practicing artist, the design includes a padded pocket for a computer and an iPad as well as a pleated pocket on the front for storage and a water bottle pocket on the side of the main body. Each component was made by me, from scratch, with materials from @ripstopbytheroll and hardware/webbing from @mcguckinhardware. The sketchbook holder was designed to hold a @riteintherain waterproof hardcover note/sketchbook.

Main Body: 18” x 10.5” x 5” (15 liters)
Sketchbook sling: 8.75” x 6.75”

Materials: Nylon Gridstop, x-pac, ripstop, PU coated ripstop, and nylon webbing with plastic components
